Ed and Anita: Those two names have always gone together for me since I’ve known them as my youth group leaders. I can’t say one without the other because they make one incredible team, encouraging, leading and enhancing the lives of those around them.
I have many great memories of small groups on Wednesday nights at their house, especially Waffle Night and one of the most influential journeys of my young life Group Workcamp Trips. Ed and Anita encouraged and eventually convinced me to on my first Group Workcamp in 2005 and I was hooked! It was an incredible opportunity to spend time with friends and Christians from all over the country serving and praising God.
Over the next eight summers I went on six workcamps with the Rennells/Peters family, four as a youth participant and two as an adult leader. Traveling all over the country to North Carolina, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Montana, South Dakota and even a stop in Canada.
Fast forward a few years to 2016, I was sitting in church hearing Doug Dean talk about putting a team together to go and help Ed and Anita with their mission to serve the homeless in Colorado. I jumped at the opportunity! Getting prepared for this trip over the past few months just made me so excited to get out to Colorado and help the couple that had such a positive influence on my life. Serving the homeless is something I don’t have much experience with but I am looking forward to seeing what God has in store for me.

Meeting with Ed and Anita at their ranch last night and hearing what God has done to get them to this point has been such a huge encouragement. Time after time God has blessed them with what they need and it is just an incredible act of faith. I’m excited to see what this week has in store for our little group out here serving along side with an incredibly strong and faithful couple Ed and Anita.
